The Magic of Vitamin C

Did you know you could promote youthful, even tone, bright skin with Vitamin C (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and L-ascorbic acid)? Me neither!

I’ve always been a fan of incorporating vitamin C into my diet. Vitamin is a power antioxidant. It helps boost immunity and it’s easily sourced: citrus and leafy greens. Pre-Covid 19, I would take vitamin C on a “as per needed” basis. Anytime I felt a cold or felt a hay fever coming on I would just reach for the best vitamin C on the market, to help ease my symptoms: Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C. It is fat soluble which eases its absorption into our cells. Lately, I will take it anytime I go out for extra precautionary measure.

Until recently, I never considered applying Vitamin C on my skin. I had seen YouTubers apply lemon juice directly on their skin. Yikes! I intuitively knew that that was not a good idea. Please do not do that, it will disrupt the PH of your skin and cause some damage. Vitamin C increases photosensitivity, which means it decreases melanin and makes your skin more vulnerable to the sun. Instead, considered getting yourself a good Vitamin C Serum and sunscreen!

Vitamin C Serums are scientifically proven to …

  • Brighten the skin
  • Boost collagen production
  • Reduce wrinkles
  • Reduce hyperpigmentation
  • Fight oxidative stress
  • Protect against sun damage
  • Reverse photodamage
  • Promotes skin elasticity

Vitamin C serum is a must for anyone serious about their skincare.

There are a bunch of vitamin C derivatives being used in beauty products. How to find the right one? According to the experts, both Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and L-ascorbic acid are effective forms of vitamin C used in skincare.

New fave!

They are both scientifically proven to reverse photodamage and promote healthy looking skin. However, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is more effective as it is fat soluble. It not only penetrates the epidermis but the dermis as well. Studies have shown that, it penetrates the skin faster and deeper than any other form of vitamin C!!!!

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate Vitamin C Serums

In contrast, L-Ascorbic Acid is water soluble which makes it more difficult for the product to reach the dermis. The dermis of the skin has a rich oil barrier. L- Ascorbic Acid will have a more difficult time going through the oil barrier and delivering results. I’ve tried it and it works, but it has limitations. Watch my YouTube video for additional info.
